Getting started

  1. Open or create a project. Choose New project in the project hub to start terrain, or Open project to continue existing work. New projects open in the Terrain workspace.
  2. Save an editable Studio project. Keep your .mxb project separate from generated export files. A game package is not a replacement for your editable project.
  3. Build a small first pass. Shape the ground, add your track features, and inspect their placement before adding detail. Use Apply to keep a tool’s pending changes or Cancel to discard them.
  4. Prepare a layout and its images. In Track Info, set your track and in-game layout names. Generate or import the track map and thumbnail when you are ready.
  5. Try an export. Follow the export guide to install the official compiler tools and build a package. Inspect the result in MX Bikes.

Working in Studio

Studio’s viewport is a working preview, not an exact rendering of MX Bikes. Confirm appearance, riding, lap timing, and resets in the game.

Testing & support

MXB Studio is in development. Before testing a new build, keep a backup of important projects and libraries. Newer saved data may not open in older builds.

If something goes wrong, share the version shown in the app, what you were doing, the steps to reproduce it, and the exact error or a screenshot. Remove personal paths or other private information before posting publicly.

Join the MXB Studio Discord for questions and feedback. See the changelog for release notes and upcoming changes.
